Ports we deliver to

Tanger Med is the largest, fastest-moving and usually the smoothest for clearance. Casablanca serves the commercial centre and the interior. Agadir covers the south. Nador serves the northeast. Tell us the city you actually want the cargo in, not the port, and we will route it for the lowest landed cost.

Why book this lane with us

We are the carrier. Cassandra Logistics is federally licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission under OTI No. 025125NF, and the bill of lading is issued in our own name. Most quotes on this route come from brokers reselling space with a margin on top.

We collect from anywhere in the USA. Any state, any yard, dealer or private seller, running or not. We bring it to our warehouse in New Jersey, Savannah, Houston or Baltimore for loading.

We load it ourselves, brace it properly and photograph it before the doors close. And we file the US export declaration so nothing stalls on the American side.

If you are Moroccan living abroad

Morocco's customs authority, the ADII, operates specific regimes for Moroccans resident abroad who want to bring a vehicle in. One is admission temporaire, which allows a vehicle in without paying duty for a defined stay under conditions. The other is definitive import, where qualifying returnees can benefit from a substantial abatement on the duties and taxes assessed, subject to strict criteria and a commitment not to sell the vehicle on for a set period.

Eligibility turns on your residence history, how long the vehicle has been in your name, and whether the return is permanent. Those conditions change and are assessed case by case. Your transitaire at the Moroccan end confirms them. What we do is move the vehicle and give your agent a clean document set to work with.

Shipping to Morocco
What is the best way to ship a car from the USA to Morocco?

In a container, booked with the licensed carrier rather than through a broker. Container protects the vehicle and lets you put more than one in the same box. Cassandra Logistics is FMC-licensed under OTI No. 025125NF and issues the bill of lading in its own name, so there is nobody between you and the party responsible for the container. Get a price in 24 to 48 hours.

Who ships cars and cargo from the USA to Casablanca?

We do, as a licensed US NVOCC. We collect from any state, load and brace at our own warehouse in New Jersey, Savannah, Houston or Baltimore, file the US export declaration and ship to Casablanca, Tanger Med, Agadir or Nador.

Can you collect my vehicle from anywhere in the USA?

Yes. Nationwide pickup and towing from any state, whether the vehicle is at an auction yard, a dealer or a private seller. Non-runners are routine and get winched rather than driven. Distance changes the price, not whether we can do it.

Can I arrange everything from Morocco without travelling to the USA?

Yes, and most people on this lane do. You never need to be in the United States. We handle collection from the seller, loading, the export filing and the ocean leg. Your transitaire in Morocco handles clearance at the other end.

Can I ship machinery or construction equipment to Morocco?

Yes, and it is a strong part of this lane. Excavators, loaders, generators and industrial plant bought at Ritchie Bros., IronPlanet or Purple Wave. Depending on size we ship containerised, on flat-rack or by heavy haulage, with dismantling where the dimensions require it. See the equipment guide.

Do you handle full household moves to Morocco?

Yes. Full container relocations are regular work on this route, both for Moroccans returning from the States and Americans moving to Morocco. Everything gets declared properly on the export filing so your agent has a clean inventory to clear against.

Can you ship general commercial cargo?

Yes. Full container commercial freight from any US origin, including building materials, spare parts, equipment and trade goods. Tell us the commodity, weight and volume and we will quote it the same way we would a vehicle.

Can I put my car and my furniture in the same container?

Usually yes, and for a relocation it is often the sensible move since it is one booking instead of two. They are assessed differently at Moroccan customs so both need declaring accurately. Send us the full contents when you ask for a price and we will file it correctly from the start.

Cost and what is included
How much does it cost to ship a container from the USA to Morocco?

It depends on where the cargo starts in the States, the container size, and which Moroccan port. Because we are the NVOCC and not a reseller, the figure you get is the carrier rate. Send us the cargo and the two cities for a firm number. Request a quote

What is the cheapest way to send a vehicle to Morocco?

Fill the container. Ocean freight is charged on the box rather than per vehicle, so two or three cars in one 40ft costs far less each than one shipped alone. If you are buying more than one, or know somebody else importing to the same city, tell us and we will look at loading them together.

What does your price actually cover?

Collection from the US seller, transport to our warehouse, loading and bracing, the US export filing, and the ocean freight to your Moroccan port. Moroccan duties, taxes, port charges, your transitaire's fee and inland delivery sit outside it and are paid at that end.

Why are other quotes to Morocco cheaper?

Usually because they are broker prices that move once the booking is real, or they leave out collection, loading or the export declaration. Ask any cheaper quote what is excluded and who issues the bill of lading. If they cannot issue one in their own name, they are reselling somebody else's space.

How much does US collection add to the total?

It scales with the distance from the seller to whichever of our four warehouses suits the routing. East Coast purchases position most cheaply for Mediterranean sailings. We build the figure into the quote so you are comparing one complete number rather than a base rate plus surprises.

What will I pay when it arrives in Morocco?

Customs duties and VAT, port handling, your transitaire's fee and inland transport. These are assessed by the ADII and charged in Morocco. Where a returning-resident regime applies the duty position can be very different, which is worth establishing with your agent before you ship rather than after.

Is a 20ft or a 40ft container better value?

For a single vehicle or a modest shipment, a 20ft usually costs less and you are not paying for empty space. From two vehicles or a full household upward, the 40ft normally wins per unit. Send us dimensions and weight and we will price both rather than guess.

Moroccans living abroad
Can a Moroccan living in the USA bring a car home?

Yes. The ADII operates specific regimes for Moroccans resident abroad, including admission temporaire and definitive import with an abatement for those who qualify. Eligibility depends on your residence history, how long the vehicle has been in your name and whether the return is permanent. Confirm your position with a transitaire before buying.

What is admission temporaire?

It is the customs regime that lets a Moroccan resident abroad bring a vehicle into Morocco for a defined period without paying import duty, on the understanding it leaves again or is regularised. There are conditions attached, including restrictions on disposing of the vehicle. Your transitaire confirms what applies to you.

Is there a duty reduction for returning residents?

There is an abatement regime for qualifying Moroccans resident abroad importing a personal vehicle definitively, which reduces the assessed value used to calculate duties and taxes. The criteria are strict and include a commitment not to sell the vehicle for a set period. It is not automatic and it changes, so verify before you commit money.

How long does clearance take at the Moroccan port?

It varies by port and season. Tanger Med generally moves fastest and has dedicated capacity during the summer return period, while other ports can be slower at peak times. Your transitaire drives this, not us. What we can do is make sure the documents reaching them are clean and consistent.

What documents will my transitaire need from me?

Typically the bill of lading we issue, the vehicle title or ownership document, the purchase invoice, your identification and residence evidence, and whatever the specific regime requires. Discrepancies between documents are the most common cause of delay anywhere, so get them consistent before the vessel sails.

How we handle your cargo
How do you secure a vehicle inside the container?

Loaded on its own wheels, chocked, strapped at the wheels or suspension rather than over the bodywork, and blocked so it cannot move at sea. Where the straps attach is the difference between a careful load and a damaged car, particularly on original paint and underside.

Do I get to see the cargo before the container is sealed?

Yes. We photograph the vehicle or cargo when it reaches our warehouse and again once it is loaded and braced, before the doors close. On anything valuable that record is also what supports a claim if something goes wrong in transit.

Should I arrange separate insurance?

On anything worth real money, yes. Carrier liability is limited by convention and is not based on what your cargo is actually worth. Marine cargo insurance covers the real value. Photograph everything thoroughly before it leaves the USA either way.

Does machinery need cleaning before it ships?

Agricultural and earth-moving equipment is commonly required to arrive free of soil and plant residue because of pest controls, and this applies widely across the region. Steam cleaning before loading costs very little against the risk of a machine being held at the port for cleaning at your expense.

Booking and timing
How fast can you give me a price?

Within 24 to 48 hours in normal cases. Send what you are shipping, where it is in the United States, and the Moroccan city. For a vehicle include the VIN if you have it, and for machinery the model number, because both let us confirm dimensions instead of estimating.

How long is the ocean leg to Morocco?

It depends on the US loading port, the carrier schedule and whether the routing is direct or transships through a Mediterranean hub, which is common. We give you a concrete timeline with the quote rather than a generic range, because on this lane the routing varies more than the distance suggests.

What happens once I accept the quote?

We arrange collection, bring the cargo to our warehouse, confirm and photograph the condition, book the container, load and brace it, file the US export declaration and send you the bill of lading. You pass that to your transitaire, who handles the Moroccan side.

Are you a licensed shipping line or a middleman?

We are the NVOCC. Cassandra Logistics is a federally licensed Ocean Transportation Intermediary under FMC licence OTI No. 025125NF, legally Royal Port Container Lines, Inc. That number is public and you can check it with the Federal Maritime Commission before you send anyone money.

Rules worth checking first
Are there restrictions on importing a used car into Morocco?

Morocco applies conditions to vehicle imports and treats commercial imports differently from the returning-resident regimes. Rather than print a rule that may have moved, we will tell you what we know at quote stage and your transitaire confirms it. What we will not do is ship you a vehicle that cannot be cleared.

Who handles the Moroccan customs clearance?

A licensed transitaire in Morocco, not us. We are the ocean carrier, we deliver to the port of discharge, and we provide the documentation your agent needs. On the returning-resident regimes especially, an agent who knows that specific process is worth having.

Import rules change. The customs information on this page comes from official government sources and was accurate when published, but duties, age limits and eligibility requirements are set by the destination country and can change without notice. Cassandra Logistics is a licensed ocean carrier, not a customs authority or a legal adviser. We are not responsible for changes to foreign import law, or for decisions made by customs at destination. Always confirm current requirements with a licensed customs agent in the destination country before you buy a vehicle.
